Seth Henning (Brother of the groom)

Seth is my younger brother and has survived much under that title from torment, tests and torture, to laughing and endless hours of entertainment. (I’m really funny)

Seth has always been a clever kid, able to figure things out mechanically and logistically. He uses those talents today as a Forman for Hendrix Town & Country Inc. building grain bins and anything else he is called on to manufacture or construct.

Seth and his wife Renee have two beautiful girls and whether he is using a 10,000 lb. jack to lift bins to the heavens or his arms to do the same with his girls. Seth is a stand up guy and I am lucky to have him as a brother but more importantly a best man!

    Tommy Garrett Brown

Tommy has been part of my life ever since I moved to RVA in 2004. After my first year in Richmond Tommy and I moved in together to a bachelor pad on Davis ave in the fan district.

He was the first roommate I ever had and some of my favorite times have been rooming with him. From planning and executing epic camping trips to recreational adventures and fun at the river. We always have a great time in the studio and onstage together and I am always looking forward to our next "Jim"Beam and throwback.

Joe Collins (brother in law of the groom)

Joe is my brother in law and someone I look up to with respect and a sense of awe and wonder. He and my sister Jaclin have been married 8 years and not only is the man standing but looks good while doing it. Joe is from England, you would not know it from his teeth or his charm but his strong British sensibility gives him away. Joe works for the Holland America cruise lines and resides in Illinois with my sister and two extremely charming children.

Isaac Henning (brother of the groom)

Isaac is my youngest brother and we are separated by 9 years 4 months  and 5 fathoms of fashion sense. Isaac has always danced to the beat of his own drum and is one of the kindest guys you will ever meet. Isaac is always there with a helping hand. One of his nicknames growing up was "my buddy" and he is that to many today. Isaac and his wife Anna have two amazing little boys who I don’t get to see nearly enough and when I do they are usually in camo.

    Thomas Ragland

I originally met Thomas while he was a student in the "School of Richmond Ballet". It has been wonderful to watch Thomas mature over the years not only in his dancing career but also in life. One of the many things I love about Thomas is his positive outlook on life and his fun loving attitude toward any situation. Thomas is my go to guy for things such as model walks and how to be as "bougie" as possible. I am so glad he has agreed to stand up with me.

    Fernando Sabino

Fern, originally from Brazil is an amazing guy with lots of insight, dedication, talent and the ugliest curly hair you will ever see.

I love hanging out with Fernando no matter what we are doing. He has a huge heart, and a Ford Ranger almost as nice looking as my own. We have been on many adventures together from Vegas to New Years in NYC and I am looking forward to many more in the future.

    Phillip Skaggs

I met Phil the very first day I came to Richmond to audition for the company. He and his wife Katie took us out to dinner and I could tell from then they were amazing people. Phil is a very handy guy able to construct or renovate anything from mopeds to old sheds. Phil has been there not to mention for myself but more importantly, Valerie. He always has great advice, tools, and shared "sweat" to spare.  I am extremely fortunate to call him a friend. Phil and Katie have two adorable boys and reside in his most current renovation on the northside of Richmond, about two blocks from Valerie's home. We are also lucky to call them "Northsider's"

Patricia Van De Ryt (sister of the Bride)
Most amazing and only sister of the bride. Fluent in Japanese, Sycronised swimmer, mother of four and avid catholic mother and wife and always up to give Valerina a good lecture, lesson, or  "Miss know it all advice". Frankly you know what, I wouldn't have it any other way. Sometimes we have been described as oil and water but throughout these past few years we have become more like a fine steak marinade. I am of course a lover of all of Patricia's adorable children and look forward to Vegas visits to be with my wonderful, sister, husband and her 4 nieces and nephews.

Jaclin Collins (sister of the Groom)
Kirks baby sister, whom I first met when she and Mrs. Henning came to see Kirk perform in Richmond Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty. Once coming backstage after the show I knew we would be best of friends, her quick wit and banter of "Prince Charming" kept me giggling all night long. Jaclin always allows me to crash at her house while visiting IL and her hospitality is infectious, as is her love for her two adorable children and husband. Never lacking in  strength and determination which she has displayed  through life's events. This  will certainly come in handy as Kirk and I need support and a shoulder to lean on in the future.

    Alicia Conrad

Alicia and I met in 6th grade while attending St. Bridgets Catholic School in RVA.  We became close chums while attending St. Gertrude High School and continued our dear friendship into our twenties. For about 6 months Alicia graciously allowed me to live in her home while I continued my never ending house hunting journey. She has always been such a dear friend from childhood into the ever trying years of becoming an adult. Alicia and I are like two peas in a pod, as long as there is wine or bourbon and a good meal then there is always laughter, encouragement, sincerity and of course love.  Alicia also played a very special and large part in Kirks wedding proposal to Valerie "Be sure to read his full story under Engagement".

    Lauren Fagone
Soul sister is the only possible description of my Miss  Fagone.  I met Lauren the summer of 2000 and we've been inseparable ever since, learning from one another, growing, maturing  and literally dancing through life together.  Ascending through the ranks of the company  we've been able to be with one another every step of the way through our dance careers,  hand in hand.  Sharing many of the same roles or being matching bookends in ballets. I suppose it  comes with being tall and glamorous, or at least that's what we always told ourselves. Fagone and I have shared cathartic tears, tears of ,joy and elation, tears from uncontrollable laughter, tears of sadness and pain and of course tears of passion with one another. No one I know lives, breaths, or feels the way miss fagones does, I am honored to have such a “ginger” spirit  by my side!

    Laura Phillips

Laura is a Physical Therapist  for "Physical Therapy Solutions of Virginia" a company which is housed on the first floor of the Richmond Ballet building, while begining her job she and I met when I would come down for therapy appointments. We hit it off right away when she overheard me saying I was headed to Ash Wednesday mass and did anyone want to join……so long story short we were inseparable #catholicbesties after that. We attend mass together weekly but more importantly we attend sunday mimosas after for a quick recp of the weeks occurances. Both of us are avid fans of the social life and happy hours around town, we love to shop, get our nails done and host parties!

    Maggie Small

Maggie and I have been friends for many many many moons. Valerie was a few years above Maggie while attending the "School of Richmond Ballet"  and watched her progress through the ranks of the school. They spent most of their time together during this joyous and super exciting time for a child while performing with the Professional Company in the "Nutcracker".  Valerie joined the Professional company and soon there after so did Maggie! Their friendship continued to grow and mature while supporting one another from the wings. Maggie stretches Val always working with her on vocabulary, fashion, current hip stuff, and most importantly ballet drama. Whenever she calls on Maggie an episode of Dance Mom's is typically playing to help the ballerina's get through the rough days.

    Shantel Tellmann
My only sister in law, soon to be 6! One of  the most patient and kind souls I've met. Shantel has taught me what it means to be a committed and serving wife.  She loves to follow along with any of my brothers crazy work out antics or his most current political rant.  Shantel and Scott have the most adorable little girls Elsie and Laila. Observing their marriage develop through the early years has shown me what two God centered people can create. Their strength in faith and family values will surely come in handy when Kirk and I encounter questions and concerns. Not to mention the only official Texan of the family.

    Scottie Thompson
Some might say childhood-bestie, some might say hippie loving friend, some too might say twin ballerina dreamers. Growing up and maturing as two young bright eyed aspiring ballerinas together really solidified a strong bond and eternal friendship. We spent ballet summer courses together living in Boston and New York City  learning and taking advantage of all the adventures city life had to offer. The most wonderful thing about our friendship over the years is that we can always pick up right where we left off ,if we haven't seen each other in years it always feels like yesterday was the last time we caught up.  Scottie and I can also tend to be opposite ends of the spectrum in conversation but the most wonderful part of our communication is that we always admire and respect the hell out of each other. I couldn't imagine not having this Hollywood star by my side!
